Hello and welcome to my website!

My name is Emma and I am an artist specialising in pet portraiture. I have always enjoyed painting as a hobby, so have combined my love of painting and love of animals to create commisioned artwork of people's beloved pets. I try to capture the true personality of the pet basing the portrait on reference photographs.

 
I use good quality acrylic paints for my portraits and use different mediums to modify the paints for my specific needs. Acrylics are a very versatile paint, they can be diluted with water to give a watercolour effect or used with gels or pastes to produce a result more like an oil painting. They also have characteristics of their own that can not be achieved with oils or watercolours. For the moment my portraits are all in acrylic but am branching out into other mediums such as coloured pencils and pastels.
